Areas of Diplomacy
UDC Members
UDC believes that Energy has played a central role in global diplomacy, impacting alliances, wars, and economic policies. As states attempt to guarantee steady energy supply, oil and gas have become political bargaining chips.
- Diplomatic and Government Officials: The UDC involves current and former Ambassadors, heads of state, diplomatic leaders, and other high-ranking government representatives from numerous countries. This provides a direct link to foreign policy and international relations. Recent events, for example, have included representatives from countries such as Brazil, China, the Netherlands, South Africa, the USA, and Vietnam, alongside various Ambassadors.
- Global Industry Champions: A significant portion of the membership comprises global business leaders, CEOs of international corporations, and entrepreneurs. These members bring expertise in areas such as manufacturing, digital currency, cross-border financing, oil and gas, education, and renewable energy. Their background focuses on leveraging economic strength for global cooperation and development.
- Varied Professional Expertise: The Council also features individuals with extensive experience in fields beyond traditional diplomacy and business, including:
- Academics and Scholars
- Leaders in Social Impact and Humanitarian Affairs
- Experts in Emerging Technologies and AI
- Media and Cultural Promoters
- Consultants in specific sectors (e.g., energy, sports, cultural, ocean)
In the twenty-first century, energy diplomacy remains crucial to international relations, with key players such as the United States, Russia, China, and the European Union influencing policies that affect global stability. UDC supports that convergence of energy policy and diplomacy is more important than ever.
