Known for its leadership in healthcare, rich mineral reserves, and a resilient economy, Cuba stands as a gateway to Latin America—and a trusted trade partner for India with over six decades of diplomatic ties.
INDIAN ECONOMIC TRADE ORGANIZATION hosted a group discussion in New Delhi with H.E. Juan Carlos Marsan and Ms. Guadalupe from the Embassy of Cuba, bringing together business voices to explore opportunities for deeper trade and investment collaboration. The discussions reflected not just historical goodwill, but a shared vision for the future—one rooted in hashtag#innovation, mutual respect, and untapped potential.
The Ambassador extended an invitation to IETO and Indian investors to join FIHAV 2025, Cuba’s flagship trade fair. IETO, in turn, confirmed a delegation visit to Cuba this November, along with the release of a commemorative book celebrating 65 years of India–Cuba relations.
Concluding the event, Dr. Asif Iqbal, remarked: “We have so much to learn from Cuba. Their resilience is an inspiration for India and the world.”
The growing relationship between India and Cuba is more than a trade partnership—it reflects a shared commitment to long-term collaboration and creating meaningful opportunities across both economies.

Cuba’s strengths in hashtag#healthcare—particularly in hashtag#cancer and hashtag#diabetes treatment—along with its hashtag#mineral reserves and expanding focus on hashtag#agriculture and hashtag#hospitality, make it a compelling destination for Indian investors. During the discussion, the Ambassador encouraged Indian companies to explore hashtag#technology transfer and joint hashtag#research opportunities. With similarities in climate and crop patterns—especially with South India—sectors like hashtag#rice, hashtag#sugar, and hashtag#pharmaceuticals offer strong potential for collaboration.
