Andhra Pradesh Mining Minister Explores Global Investment Partnerships with United Diplomatic Council
New Delhi | July 2026 In a significant step toward enhancing international investment and strategic partnerships in the mining sector, Hon’ble Minister for Mines, Geology and Excise, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Kollu Ravindra, held high-level discussions with the leadership of the United Diplomatic Council (UDC) to explore avenues for promoting Andhra Pradesh as a preferred global destination for mining investments. The meeting focused on showcasing the vast mineral wealth and investment potential of Andhra Pradesh to foreign governments, international investors, mining companies, technology providers, and equipment manufacturers. During the discussions, Minister Kollu Ravindra highlighted the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing the Government’s commitment to positioning Andhra Pradesh prominently on the global investment map through progressive policies, investor-friendly governance, and world-class infrastructure. The Minister reiterated that Andhra Pradesh is committed to creating a transparent and sustainable mining ecosystem that encourages responsible investment while generating employment, technological advancement, and long-term economic growth. Welcoming the Minister and the delegation, Dr. Asif Iqbal, President of the United Diplomatic Council (UDC), outlined the Council’s international initiatives aimed at promoting trade, investment, and diplomatic cooperation. Dr. Iqbal announced that the UDC is planning a landmark International Mining Conference in Vijayawada in December 2026, which will be organized under the patronage of the Hon’ble Minister for Mines, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The conference is expected to bring together senior government representatives, diplomatic missions, mining corporations, investors, equipment manufacturers, technology providers, and industry experts from across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Particular emphasis will be placed on strengthening partnerships with African nations, many of which are actively seeking collaborations in mining machinery, advanced technologies, technical expertise, skill development, and sustainable resource management. “The proposed conference will serve as a strategic platform for connecting Andhra Pradesh with global mining stakeholders while facilitating knowledge exchange, investment opportunities, and international collaborations,” Dr. Asif Iqbal stated. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Jyothsna Tirunagari, National Spokesperson of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Founder of the Samskara Foundation, whose remarkable contribution to community healthcare was widely appreciated. Through the Foundation, Prof. Tirunagari has successfully organized more than 500 Mega Health Camps across Telangana, benefiting thousands of citizens with free health screenings, specialist consultations, diagnostic services, medicines, and, where required, surgical interventions. These initiatives have reached both urban communities in Hyderabad and numerous rural districts, significantly improving access to quality healthcare. During the discussions, Prof. Tirunagari presented an innovative proposal to promote seaweed cultivation and export training programs for women entrepreneurs and self-help groups, creating new livelihood opportunities through the blue economy. Responding to the proposal, Dr. Asif Iqbal emphasized the strong export potential of seaweed products in international markets such as Japan and Vietnam. He further assured that the United Diplomatic Council would facilitate engagement with international investors and buyers to explore buy-back agreements, thereby ensuring sustainable market access and long-term commercial viability for women-led enterprises. As part of the ongoing collaboration, the United Diplomatic Council formally extended an invitation to a delegation from the Government of Andhra Pradesh to participate in the United Economic BRICS Summit, scheduled to be held in New Delhi on 10 September. The summit is expected to attract ministers, ambassadors, policymakers, business leaders, investors, and trade organizations from BRICS and partner countries, offering Andhra Pradesh a valuable platform to showcase its investment opportunities, industrial strengths, and economic vision before an international audience. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepen cooperation in mining, infrastructure, trade, technology, women’s economic empowerment, and sustainable development. Both sides expressed confidence that these initiatives would strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s global engagement and create new avenues for international partnerships that contribute to the state’s long-term economic growth and prosperity.
